After a night of rain, wind and impressive storms at Tičarjev Dom at 1611m and awakening to pea soup outside, we decided against a mountain day and instead descended into the Soča valley to Trenta. Our newly purchased poles were somewhat useful when crossing rivers in spate! The so-called emerald river was indeed rather green albeit a little full.
09:00 - Rush hour on the pass
Evidence of a newly created stream bed on the path
Not using this bridge at our own risk...
After catching our local bus back to KG, rather cold and wet, and having seen the latest forecast, we said fond farewell to our beloved campsite and its owner and checked into a hotel.
Full use was made of the pool, jacuzzi, whirlpool and balcony (for drying kit and brewing tea)
We are now eagerly awaiting the arrival of Nicola and Mani tomorrow for our 3 day expedition and trip to Klagenfurt.
